Obama and the Special Olympics gaffe

I was deeply disppointed by this. Having read some of his campaign fodder on ASD, I was hoping to see more of an inclusionary attitude come from Washington this time around.

I found this video on YouTube of Obama, preaching the good word and wanting to get the message out on a united populace:



When president Obama made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno:


It was as quick as it was insensitive. And it passed through with very little acknowledgement from the press or the public.

So I decided to take a bit of stock in myself, did some research, and took the R-Word Pledge.

I hope the president decides to do the same.
